Founded in 1980, the TAIPEI GENESIS CHAMBER AND GUITAR ORCHESTRA has remained dedicated to the mission of music education and the promotion of classical guitar. With unwavering commitment, the orchestra has actively organized a wide range of impactful and high-quality events while fostering meaningful cross-cultural exchanges, laying a solid foundation for the classical guitar scene in Taiwan.
Since 2012, the GENESIS has expanded its efforts by launching the Taiwan International Guitar Festival & Competition (TIGF). This prestigious event features master concerts, an international guitar competition, music camps, masterclasses, and lectures. To date, it has hosted distinguished artists from over 20 countries, and has played a pivotal role in nurturing a new generation of leading classical guitarists in Taiwan.
Renowned for its scale and excellence, each edition of TIGF has received enthusiastic acclaim and widespread media coverage from the global music community. Today, TIGF stands as one of the most prominent and prestigious guitar festivals in Asia. Through the universal language of guitar music, we connect with the world — and let the world see Taiwan.
