E世代的偶像新星

麥克.葛基奇 (Mak Grgić)

斯洛維尼亞青年吉他家麥克.葛基奇(Mak Grgic),為當今歐洲新崛起的偶像新星,演奏曲風從古典音樂至百老匯歌舞劇無所不包,是近年最受樂壇青睞的吉他家之一,演出足跡亦遍佈歐美及亞洲各地。 

麥克.葛基奇於美國南加州大學(University of South Carlifornia)完成音樂藝術博士學位,師事William KanengiserScott Tennant。在此之前,於維也納表演藝術大學(Universitaet fuer Musik und Darstellende Kunst),長年師事當代吉他大師Alvaro Pierri。並曾與世界多國頂尖樂團合作演出協奏曲,包含Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Croatian Chamber Philharmonic, St.Peterburg Symphony Philharmonic...等。

學生時期即榮獲世界多項國際大賽首獎的殊榮,包括:

Luigi Mozzani International Guitar Competition (Italy)
Forum Gitarre Wien International Competition, Vienna (Austria)

Andres Segovia International Guitar Competition, Velbert (Germany) 



Mak Grgić

Mak Grgic, proclaimed “imaginative, gifted, and expressive” by the NY Times and a “guitarist to keep an eye on” by the Washington Post isan innovative player with versatile programming. 

His repertoire extends in a range of genres including avant-garde, film music, and popular stylings, while still retaining great classics of the instrument.  His newest release on Marquis Records entitled Cinema Verismo focusess pecifically on cinema music of the last few decades, mixing classical worksused in films with transcriptions of cinematic scores.  In the comingyear, Grgic will be releasing both new solo recordings on Grammy Award-winninglabels Micro Fest Records and Naxos, as well as collaborative projects with Cellist Robert De Maine (LA Philharmonic) and Anderson Alden

Recently a Young Artist in Residence at The Da Camera Society of Los Angeles, Grgic is a co-founder of DC8, Da Camera’s contemporary music ensemble.  The group strives to expand the definition of what a modern ensemble can be, and was named an “inspiring addition to the contemporary music landscape in Los Angeles” by the LA Times.  He has been fortunate to work with many talented collaborators including Martin Chalifour (Concertmaster, LA Phil), Jay Campbell, Joshua Roman, The Assad Brothers, Ashley Bathgate (Bang on a CanAll-Stars), and John Sant’ Ambrogio (St. Louis Symphony Orchestra).  Grgic is a memberof Duo Deloro with Adam Del Monte, and Fret X Dueo with Daniel Lippel.  

Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, he studied guitar in Zagreb with the revered Ante Caglj at the Elly Basic Conservatory of Music and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree with Alvaro Pierri at the Universities fuel Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria.  He has just recently finished his Doctoral Degree at the USC Thornton School of Music as astudent of William Kanengiser and Scott Tennant of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.  He currently hods a faculty position at Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, and artistic director ship of Zagreb Guitar Festival.  When he is not involved in music, Grgic helps fundraise for Bosnian children with financial difficulties.
